How many times have we used that phrase when we feel so strongly about something. Over my dead body will you have the car this Friday night? Over my dead body will your mother come move in with us. Well, after hearing this true story, I have made a vow NEVER to use it again.
Our church has a school from Pre-K to 8th grade. Many years ago, the staff decided they need a gymnasium for the students. They approached the priest about this subject, and he vehemently opposed the building of the gymnasium. He said, "Over my dead body will anything be built out there."
A couple of days later, he suffered a heart attack and almost died. He decided to re-think the building of the gymnasium, and they began construction a short time later. Watch what you say, and pray for the Lord to censor your mouth before you say something foolish.
